ENTRANCE AREA

Our 3 acre community garden and allotment site is situated at Mastin Moor about 300 feet above sea level on a South facing slope. The pedestrian and disabled entrance to the site is provided from Worksop Road (the A619) .

A major concern in redeveloping this site has been to make it welcoming and accessible to all our community. With this end in view, the gate and paths are both wheelchair and pram/buggy friendly. The gardens cannot accommodate vehicle access and parking is limited to the public highway, so all visitors are asked to show consideration for local residents, other users and are also advised to abide by the law when parking nearby. Having said that, there is adequate space to drop off and collect both able - bodied and disabled persons at this point.

The entrance area and all the footpaths on the site are made up from a timber edging filled with two types of stone laid over a membrane and rolled to a smooth surface. This provides a firm and reasonably level surface that easily accommodates both foot and wheelchair visitors.

From the entrance visitors can choose to turn left for a tour of the site or go straight ahead where, within is in easy reach of are both Centre Point , the raised beds and the commemorative tree area so that those who do not wish to take in the whole site need not walk too far to reach some of the most interesting parts of the site.

Please enjoy your visit!!

And remember,

Mastin Moor Community Garden is here for the benefit of everyone, so please be considerate of other users. Respect the site, do not drop litter, keep dogs and children under control and, until the meadows are well-grown, please refrain from walking off the footpaths.
