POND

Although funding is not yet available it is hoped that at sometime in the future a pond can be provided in this part of the site. The benefits in terms of wildlife habitat of having a pond are well known. Invertebrates such as frogs and toads are immensely helpful in keeping garden pests under control.

Although the focus of the site to date has been to promote the organic growing side of the project, the promotion of wildlife habitat is a major component of the ethos of the team. We hope that those who come to enjoy this green space will pass many happy hours watching the various creatures with which we share this particular corner of Mastin Moor.
